Ferguson Valley

The Ferguson Valley is Bunbury's own wine country — a fold of green hills, vineyards and farm gates barely twenty-five minutes from the city, and one of the South West's best-kept secrets.

Wineries and breweries

The valley sits within the Geographe wine region and is dotted with boutique wineries and cellar doors, most of them small, family-run and happy to pour tastings on weekends. A handful of craft breweries with big verandas and valley views round out the loop — this is lazy-lunch territory, best explored with a designated driver and no particular schedule.

Gnomesville

At a roundabout deep in the valley you'll find Gnomesville, one of WA's strangest and most loved roadside attractions: many thousands of garden gnomes, left by visitors from around the world, spilling through the bush in little arranged scenes. Bring a gnome, leave a gnome — it costs nothing and kids adore it.

Wellington National Park

The valley runs up into Wellington National Park, where the Collie River cuts through jarrah forest. Swim or paddle at the river pools, picnic below Wellington Dam — home to one of the world's largest dam-wall murals — and look out for the ancient King Jarrah tree on the forest drives.
